Puerto Rico is an island that has never had indepedence, but is the unique country in latin-America that never has had a dictatorship. We might see this, as a rare and singular evidence, that independence doesn t mean freedom. But, what s the freedom? We might concieve it as being, and feeling plenty, of whatever we d like from life. But within the legality, there s only one thing: democracy. Puerto Rico has remained free, because every time someone, (possibly a puerto rican), want s to take over it s territory, the U.S. army comes down and tells him:
--NO WAY! Elections for people s will are ruling here!--
If the rebel doesn t obey, they use the force. So, that s freedom through the force. This principle was applied in Panama, and that s a free and democratic country now. Also, Grenada had to face the U.S. army, and it s no longer a democracy threat. Just as well is going on in Iraq, where the U.S. army is trying to impose the common sense. In the future, maybe Venezuela it s next. The Puerto Rico principle is like an legal insurance for plentyness and people s will. That makes it morally strong. But it comes from the U.S.A. power strengh, only performed by the republicans. We need the Republican Party!
